Commission Process

If you are looking to commission a pet portrait, this page gives you a brief overview of the process from start to finish.

I also provide Gift Vouchers for those who are running out of time for a special occasion, or cannot find suitable photographs for a pet portrait without ruining the surprise. Read my Gift Vouchers page to find out more.

Feel free to Contact Me at any time if you have any questions!

Photographs

The first thing you will need to do is find or take some high quality photographs of your pet. I like to see a range of different photographs of your pet before I begin, but I will usually work mostly from one.

Try to choose photographs that capture your pet’s personality and character well. The better the photos, the better the portrait!

Contact Me

Once your photographs are ready and you have an idea of the size and medium you would like for your pet portrait, you can contact me by email, telephone or text:

(Don’t worry if you are unsure of the specific details of your portrait when you contact me, I can help to advise you and answer any questions you have before you pay your deposit.)

Your photos can be sent to me through email, or post if you prefer.

Once I have received your photos and requirements, I can discuss your pet portrait with you in detail so I know exactly what you want. I will then be able give you an accurate price quote, including delivery charges.

Paying Your Deposit

After you have decided exactly what you want  for your pet portrait, I require a deposit of around 30% of the total cost.

Full payment is not required until the portrait is complete and you are happy with the results!

Deposit payments can be made via personal cheque, bank transfer or Paypal (please note that I can only accept personal cheques and bank transfer if you live within the UK). If you are unable to pay by one of these methods please let me know.

Your Pet Portrait in Progress

Once I have received your deposit, I will start working on your pet portrait. An accurate completion time will be discussed upon ordering.

You will be able to watch your portrait progress either through email or on the Pet Portraits & Art Blog, which can always be found along the top navigation bar of my website. I take regular photos so you can see each stage as it develops. You’re welcome to comment and ask questions at any time!

Final Scan/Photograph and Full Payment

As soon as I have completed your pet portrait, you will be sent a high quality, watermarked scan or photograph of it for your approval.

Once you are 100% happy with the finished result, you will need to pay the remainder of your payment in full before your portrait is safely packaged and delivered to you.

Full payments can be made in the same way as the deposit via Paypal, bank transfer or cheque.

Packaging and Delivery

All pet portraits are packaged well to ensure they arrive safely and in perfect condition to your door.

I use either Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day or International Signed For for sending my pet portraits, both of which include tracking and full insurance.

Delivery charges are not included in the price of your portrait. Costs vary depending on the size of your portrait and destination. I am happy to discuss the delivery options available to you when you order.
